Meeting Agenda for 2019
How Will the COP be Run
- Participants will submit agenda items, and rotating Facilitators will host as well as help structure each meeting based on the agenda.
- Issues selected for discussion will be spread out over 4 main meetings (one per quarter?).
Possible Issues for Discussion
-how to communicate what one another do?
-tension between community needs and student needs.
-community engagement vs service learning
-move towards skills-based, instead of more manual or just engagement work.
-implications also then is connecting with faculty for more faculty-led, skills relevant work. (if student led, just simpler modes of engagement).
-sustainability and long term partnerships, given student cohorts move.
-credit bearing, compulsory or voluntary?
-training and foundations for students so they know how to engage and work with community. -how to curate proper training for students. And problems with scale, especially if compulsory and student body is large (many have moved online)
-Administrative function and place of the service learning office. Under student life, student affairs, or specialised office etc.
Issues for Deliberation and Decision
To ARTICULATE AND CLARIFY: use a form to help them articulate vision, mission, roles, guiding principles, objectives, roles ?
To decide what info, how to share info that is useful for one another
